Half Price Dolls' Houses at ELC
Davros · 14/11/2004 18:49
Got an email on Friday saying that the Georgian Dolls' House is £37.50 instead of £75 and the contemporary one is £25, not £50
Hulababy · 14/11/2004 19:05
And the contempory furniture and accessories are on 3 for 2 offer as well.
Gobbledigook · 14/11/2004 19:22
Ta muchly!
Have just ordered the £25 dolls house for my ds's Xmas present from my grandparents!! Sounds cheeky I know but they always ask me to get their gift on their behalf and then give me the money as they are very old and not really up to shopping.
Ordered some people, study and bathroom too on the 3 for 2 offer - couldn't get kitchen, bedroom or lounge as not available so will be a bit of a sparse house!
fairyfly · 14/11/2004 19:28
Can i get one for my 3 year o;d boy as i really want one in the gouse, or is that mean
Hulababy · 14/11/2004 19:33
Gobbledigook - try a store for the other furniture. We found that our two stores had stock in store that wasn't available on the website.
Failing that Toys R Us do some basic wooden furntiure sets, from around £4.99 a room.
Davros · 14/11/2004 19:48
Don't see why not ff. Tempted to get one for Dd who is only 20 mos, too young really so have promised myself to wait until next year, boo hoo!
blossomhill · 14/11/2004 19:51
I am so gutted as we paid £100 for dd's house and furniture last year!!!!!!
fairyfly · 14/11/2004 19:52
Im getting it, just looked and i love it, thanks for this thread
Davros · 14/11/2004 20:43
Still tempted, if they haven't all gone. Which one do you all prefer, Georgian or modern? Aside from cost.
blossomhill · 14/11/2004 20:51
Davros - I like both. The georgian one is more classic I suppose but the modern one seems easier to play with. The layout means that all parts of the house are accessible.
Gobbledigook · 14/11/2004 20:53
Fairlyfly - I've just ordered one for ds1 and ds2 who are 3.5 and 2. I got the £25 one cos it's 'less girly' - there's one at ds1's playgroup and when we drop him off, ds2 bee-lines for it.
Hulababy - thanks for that - the ELC ones are quite expensive so will definitely try ToysRUs.
Gobbledigook · 14/11/2004 20:53
Davros, the Georgian one is out of stock but they've got the basic one that I got for ds's.
Davros · 15/11/2004 10:03
I cracked and just ordered it. Just as well Georgian one out of stock, too much of a decision!
Gobbledigook · 15/11/2004 10:05
Hurrah!!! The other one is lovely anyway and I thought it was a bit less girly so good for boys!!
fairyfly · 15/11/2004 10:06
Modern one definetly, the georgian one wont do for him. I hope they have them left tomorrow as im all excited now. If asked him if he wants a dolls house for christmas and he said no
Clayhead · 15/11/2004 10:31
The modern one is a really clever design as it's really accessible and open and several kids can play with it at once IYSWIM.
stickynote · 15/11/2004 12:38
Just to say, I phoned my local branch of ELC and they've got the Georgian one at the special offer price, so try the branches if the online ones run out.
Thanks so much for posting this Davros .
handlemecarefully · 17/11/2004 10:21
STOP PRESS, STOP PRESS!!!
Just been onto the ELC website a minute ago and the half price Georgian dolls houses are back in stock. I've just ordered.
Thanks Davros for telling us about this - I would have ended up ordering it from elsewhere at full price otherwise
OldieMum · 17/11/2004 10:44
Just ordered the contemporary house. I'd been thinking of getting one, but had baulked at the cost. Thanks so much for the tip.
