Dog has eaten vital part of toy

You know those little sets of wooden painted fruit and veggies that have been cut in half and then velcro'd back together? They come with a little chopping board and a wooden 'knife' to chop the veggies up for playing cooking.

The blinkin dog has eaten the knife!

Can anyone think of what would make a good replacement knife? The best I can come up with is a 6" plastic ruler, but it's not quite the same...
