Hi everyone.Wonder if anyone can help me out here. Something has started happening which is really getting my goat. I am increasingly not getting text messages that people ssay they have sent me then days later loads come in at once. In the last 5 minutes I have received 3 from Thursday night and 1 from yesterday morning. I have a very expensive phone (DH paid ofcourse) and rely on it heavily. Anyone else got the same problem???

Has your inbox got enough room in it?

Have you got a good signal?

Freckle · 13/11/2004 12:43

Have you spoken to your service provider? Do you have your phone on some sort of divert - inadvertently?

pixiefish · 13/11/2004 12:47

If your service provider can't deliver the text message straight away- eg if you're out of signal- then the message goesa to thew back of the queue at the service center and then it'll try to send it again. We've had text messages at 4 in the morning that have been sent the previous evening.

KangaMummy · 13/11/2004 12:50

IME If you have been in a bad signal area for the day and then move into a good signal you get them flooding in all at once,

Like in the ISLE OF WIGHT there are places with no signal and then when driving around you suddenly get a signal because you have got to the top of hill and out of the valley.

spook · 13/11/2004 12:52

My signal is ussually OK-actually I wonder if it's always when I'm sat in the kitchen?? YES! I think it ussually is. Signal dodgy in there.Could that be it? My inbox is full of messages from my knobhead of an ex that I think need to be kept so maybe a bit of a clearout. The expression service provider brings me out in a cold sweat. My service provider is my ex's PA who deals with all the phones and my ex who pays my (extensive) bill.

Sorry pixiefish mine sounds like I am contradicting you I take so long to type that I started before you had put yours up

I don't really know the tech reason it is just that is what happens with us on IOW when we are over there.

We are both O2.

spook · 13/11/2004 12:54

48 hours later is taking the piss a bit though isn't it? And I often don't get that at certain times of the evening.I only know this coz Beccarollover always texts me to say she's in the cab on her way and they never come till hours later. Could it be that the airwaves are so crammed that they're just not getting through??
God-I'm sorry girls. This is such a DULL thread isn't it!

spook I don't know anything about you and your ex but would it work if you took your phone to the solicitors and got them to write down everything that ex has sent to you in text form then you could clear out the inbox.

If the solictitor did it then they would have been formally copied and you would not loose them as evidence.

BTW maybe it is a bad signal in kitchen thing has the phone been in there since they were sent.

good luck

spook · 13/11/2004 12:59

lol spook

Freckle · 13/11/2004 13:07

Might it not be an idea to get a second mobile phone, Spook? If your ex's PA is dealing with all traffic? You could get a PAYG phone and only give the number out to a select few. Anything you wouldn't want ex to find out about could be sent through that phone. All other calls should go through main phone so that ex pays for it.

spook · 13/11/2004 13:18

But she can't check all my calls and things can she? (and she is on my side anyway. Hates what he's done and hates Katsuit Kat even more!!)
