I want to buy one for DS age 4. Was wondering how practical they are and about the quality. The one we want is for 209.99.

My daughter has one like this....www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6611589/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500005806.Furniture%2Band%2Bfurni shings%3EC%24cip%3D1500005839.Children%27s%2Bfurniture%3EC%24cip%3D1500005841.Children%27s%2Bbeds%3E FC%24Base+type%3DMid+Sleeper.Mid%2BSleeper.htm

She is 7 now and we brought it when she was about 4. It has been unasembled and put back together a few times for moving house and rearranging her bedroom and is still in good condition - apart from her drawings on the wood!

It creaks a bit now and when I get on it it wobbles a bit but it holds my weight as well as dd.

Also, space wise, it is a god send! She has a toy chest under it and it is great for saving space in her room.

That worked - so if anyone knows anything about this bed - your comments would be gratefully received!

Sweetheart - DH won't let me get that bed and I quite like it. I was particularly interested in the one from IKEA - it's called Kura.

I think we have the equivalent double bed - and it is fairly robust (not brilliant but wouldn't expect that for that price).

We don't open the drawers much - not sure how they woudl stand up to regular boisterous use by kids to be honest.

TartWithAHeart · 12/12/2007 12:18

That's what I was worried about. I want a good solid bed that he can have until or at least until he is about 11 and only have to change the mattress when necessary.
I am seduced by the storage underneath, although his bedroom is not small - he has lots of boys toys which take up space (race track, castle, pirate ships etc)

well the drawers are fine - on little runners - would be fine if not too rough with them.
