Help with Your Quinny Buzz....HERE!!

Hiya everyone.

If you've either got a Quinny Buzz or thinking about getting one, please read on. I bought my Buzz for my then 15month old DS and now, only 4-5 months later, I've had a few problems with it, but now I have hopefully ironed all of them out. So please read on if you have any issues with your Buzz and hopefully you'll find the help you needed.

Ok, first of all, I had problems with the harness straps. I needed to get them off the actual seat part of the buggy to attach the cosy-toes. This can be done by pulling the shoulder pads right back and undoing the poppers. They're quite stiff so give them a real good pull.

Second, I've been really annoyed lately at the fact that my very slender 19m/o DS couldn't be strapped into the buggy when he had his winter coat on, let alone the cosy-toes, because the harness straps, at their fullest extent, were no where near long enough. And even when I only fasten the straps over the top of his legs and leave his top half 'dangling out', this too has become damn near impossible, esp when he's kicking up a fuss about being put in his chariot! Alas, after being p**sed off about this for about 3 weeks, trawling the web trying to get hold of a number or website to complain to, I have obtained the number for Durrell, who are the people behind the Quinny's and Maxi Cosi's 0208 236 0707 (opt 4 for Cust Serv), and upon explaining my 'wee' dilemma to them, a very very sweet young lady immediately offered to post me out some extentions for the straps. Problem solved!!! However, it does raise questions, such as, why are the straps just not longer in the first place? Or....why do they not include the extention straps in with the Buzz when you buy it so you have the option to add them later on?!

One other thing, I have found that my cosy-toes slumps down, making it difficult to get DS in and pull it back up at the same time. But I think that this is because I have removed the shoulder straps (initially taken off in an attempt to salvage a few more cm's to get the straps round DS) So hopefully, by attaching them back on, they will hold the cosy-toes up for me when the seat it in its most vertical forward facing position.

I hope this helps!!! I only wish I could have found this kind of information on here when I needed it! Ah well. Hopefully if this has helped, you can go back to enjoying your amazing Buzz, cos lets face it....it is a pretty cool buggy. I love the envious stares I get from other mums and dads, lol. x

hook the footmuff over the top of the buggy. ifind that keeps it in place and doesnt slip.

Glad I read this - just ordered mine and can't wait until it comes

I think my priorities may be skewed when I'm nearly as excited about the buggy as I am about the baby

oh thanks for this info, only had mine a few weeks! Does anyone have probs getting the rain cover on , which is the best way??

BeausMamma · 11/12/2007 12:56

Heya Pinkrangernowwobbles

I've found that if you hook the hood-end of the rain cover over the fully extended hood, then pull down and hook under the foot rest, it seems to go on pretty much straight away.

I'm slightly annoyed by the fact that you can't seem to have the raincover on the buggy in 'stand-by' mode, ready to whip down in the event of a sudden downpour. You either just have to have it 'all on' or 'not at all'. Does anyone have any tips to get around this problem? Being as it is rainy winter time now, I think all us mamma's (and daddies) need all the help we can get with regard to rain covers! lol

yes, i am a little miffed by this - also dont like the fact that it is like fort knocks to try and get your hand in the cover if baby needs duymmy etc ( but i dooo soooo love my Buzz)

BeausMamma · 11/12/2007 13:03

Heya Naetha

Don't worry about being giddy about your buggy....it's well worth it cos it's so damn cool! lol

Anyway, I'm terrible. I'm on my 3rd buggy now!! I had a SilverCross Sleepover Classic when Beau was first born, then I got a SilverCross Pop! for the convinience, and now my Buzz. I kinda wish now that I'd have just got the Buzz in the 1st place cos it ticks all the boxes. I had to learn the hard way!

Oooooh, just thought of another little tip for everyone in case you havent already got any of these.... (I know, you're all wondering why I'm being so insistant with this!! But it's only to try and help everyone out, cos I strugged a bit at first with my Buzz) ((and I'm doing it all now cos DS is asleep so need to cease the moment and do this while I can!)) ....Ok, I had a hard time with the shopping basket underneath and struggled to get much of anything, esp if it was bulky in shape to fit underneath and be secure, but I found a little miracle. Mothercare sell some little Pram Clips for 2 for 1.49 (see link www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B000M4XPSI/sr=1-17/qid=1197378567/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBKND J2KZUGQ&n=44323031&mcb=core)which are fab for hooking your bags over, and esp great as the more you get, the better you can distribute heavy loads. I love them soooooo much cos they fit the Buzz handle-bar so well. I keep them on all the time so if ever I'm out and fancy buying something, I dont need to worry about carrying it! BUT.....better than this, I stumbled across some more Pram Clips but from Wilko's, they're navy blue (but who cares and they're 3 for 49p!!!!!!!!! BARGAIN!! So go and get yerselves some, cos for that price, you can treat yourself for saving the money! lol. Hope this helps!! x
