Sat Nav's????? recommendations please?

I used my sisters recently in Brighton, a Garmin Nuvi 200. Wow, I just have to have one!, but which one!!!!!!! her one seemed OK, but before buying Id like to know what experiences you guys have of them, and any recommendations>?

I've just bought DH a Garmin Nuvi 200 for Christmas so we haven't used it yet, but according to the man in Currys, all the Garmin maps have been drive tested so you don't get sent down dirt tracks/alleys/private drives etc, he said Tom Tom ones aren't. Also the Garmin one was £10 cheaper

My mum bought one at Sainsbury's recently for £100 (£50 off) which is a German brand. My DH did some research and advised her not to go the TomTom route as MoosMa said the maps are not as good apparently.
