Which Maclaren pushchair do you recommend?

I'd like to get a Maclaren pushchair as I've heard that they're easier to fold/stow and are lighter (currently have a Phil and Ted's for my 9 month old dd).

There seem to be many different types on the market - which would you recommend? I would use the Maclaren mainly for shopping trips.

Thanks

id either go for the cheepest (volo) if you want a basic maclaren...

OR the best one (techno XT) if you want an all singing and dancing one

i wouldnt go for one in the middle tbh

CarGirl · 05/12/2007 21:41

agree with nannyl

tassisssss · 05/12/2007 21:42

just to disagree...i've been v happy with my quest!

FairyTaleOfNewYork · 05/12/2007 21:42

depends on how tall you are really

and how old the child is?

i like the triumph, suits me perfectly.

FairyTaleOfNewYork · 05/12/2007 21:46

i'm 5ft 3, find the techno xt, classic. xlr too big for me. lovely buggies though.

i like the volo's and triumph. not tried a quest, but had a ryder and that was ok.

I agree with NannyL, I've got a triumph and don't really like it much. The brakes are pretty much useless, I always have to wedge it in behind the bar on a bus, and the basket is useless too. It is very light, but a volo would have done the job and cheaper. Techno looks good though

FirstAtForty · 05/12/2007 22:05

The Techno is great (but I haven't tried the others) - it's sturdy but also pretty compact.

tassisssss · 05/12/2007 22:11

(should add, coz i've just remembered, the brakes on my quest are utterly crap...i've got used to it so don't think about it, but i just never use them they're so rubbish...pram is nearly 4 years old, so they may have improved)
