Has anyone recently applied for a new uk passport?

My husband recently realised his passport was out of date. He quickly sent off for a new one. Old passport posted and money paid on the 6th of September. We’re booked to go away on the 27th! I feel like it’s not going to happen? Could it?

Did he renew online?
Maybe should have used a fast track service

Yes. He didn’t think about fast tracking it. So not sure of my options now. It doesn’t look good does it?

Sent off for it 27 July and it came back 1 September - about 5 weeks.
