Who can check to see if our iso-fix base is fitted correctly?

Due in a few days time so DH has fitted the iso-fix base of our car seat (maxi cosi) but he is not sure that it's in correctly. We got it from a small local retailer who won't check it's fitting (not sure why, liability presumably) so not sure who could check it out for us?
Any ideas gratefully received!

if they seem reluctant tell them you wnat to BUY one of theirs and ask them to show you it in your car (hide yours in the boot) then say thanks and you are going home to think about it!

say to mothercare (or whoever) that your mother bought it, but you are unsure where from and can they please help with the fitting.

I would be surprised if a big store would not help you.
