can it possibly be worth £80 for a large chunk of plastic? i meant to get this for dd when it was £40 on mailorder express but due to being spectacularily disorganised i missed out.

I haven't bought it because it doesn't look worth it to me. the 'take along' playmobil house looks more fun, and is a lot cheaper.

thanks belgo, thats what i thought but i am having a pre-christmas melt down.

we bought a second hand one off ebay a while ago, definately not worth £80 or more. Consequently sold it to my SIL who is playmobil obsessed and was quite willing to pay £95 for one in the local overpriced toy shop. DD has take a long and gets it out loads. I think because she can move it around it gets played with more

i had a look on ebay but in the pre christmas madness one went for £115!

yep, ebay's mad at the mo. Got that one in august for £56 and it had some furniture with it, not complete sets though.

Is it the current one, the Grand Mansion, with modern figures you are after as the previous version(3+ years ago) was a Victorian house with Victorian characters and furniture which was discontinued. dd has the Grand Mansion and loves it, gets played with every day so feel we have got our money's worth. Paid about £70 2 years ago.

The Take-along house is on special offer at The Entertainer at the moment -its out of stock on the website but if you've got a store near you it might be worth checking.

(other Playmobil stuff on offer there too that might be an alternative)

DD had the Grand Mansion for her 3rd birthday and she loves it. I was a bit at getting a plastic dolls house instead a a trad wooden one, , but her older brothers are playmobil-mad so the house is well served by all their binmen, emergency vehicles etc. I found a gladiator in the bath earlier today
