when small, i used to have an old china boot (illuminated from within with a low-watt bulb) with a scene of little owls sitting around inside. it gave you a lovely cosy feeling at bedtime. can't find anything like this now, just the whirling lamps projecting seascape/animal scenes. they're very nice but... i want a china boot! or something like it! something made of china, with windows you can peep through!

have been looking for ages. checked all the usual suspects inc ebay.

oh secur, how kind. but i think it might be too big. i'm going to go and try to lay my hands on a ruler to doublecheck. can you look in thewindows, though? what do you see?

They used to do a boot one like the one you described, but I was too slow and when I decided to get it they had stopped stocking it!!

secur and cas73... i badly need to look in at a cosy domestic scenario... and if i got creative, i'd definitely set the place on fire. i think it may be a health and safety issue. it seems so weird that they were so commonplace when i was small, and now they're impossible to find
