Ds is desperate for an Ipod.

Am thinking a cheap MP3 for christmas. Can you download stories and stuff too?

Any thoughts?

Just checked my itunes store and it looks like they have some audiobooks and young children

You can of course copy all your cd's and things on to the ipod so if you already have some you can just put them straight on

Don't buy the disk type of mp3 player for kids (ie don't get an Ipod), get the sort that use flash memory so they can withstand the bashing and jiggling about they will get. Because a disk based player has moving parts they can't withstand rough handling in the same way.

You can download just about anything, but personally I wouldn't buy one for my 6 year old. He'd just sit there fiddling with the volume and deafening himself. I'd rather he listened to stories on the stereo, which he does.

Fisher Price do a kids MP3 player iirc but it's quite expensive.
