Long sleeved vest dilemma

So I'm due in two weeks and whilst I have everything I need clothes wise, it still feels very overwhelming.
I know that typically, babies wear one more layer than we do which I understand.
So my question is; if I wanted to use a long sleeved vest as a t-shirt, (or it's used as a t-shirt for a dungarees outfit) would I need to put a short sleeved vest on underneath?
I know this would be weather dependent as well, but it doesn't usually get too warm here!

No I wouldn't. You could put a cardigan over the top if required

Or put a shirt sleeved vest on top.m
But not two layers of crotch poppers!

Ignore me, I’m not thinking right. I meant “Or put a short sleeved t shirt on top”.

No, one vest will be fine. You can add a cardigan if it’s cold, but you don’t want to be faffing with double vest poppers!
