Ergo style sling for a child?

CharlieAndLolasMummy · 26/11/2007 20:55

Ok am not quite sure how to explain exactly what I want.

I have an Ergo, and imminant baby #3 will go in it as soon as possible.

I want to get small sized ones for dd and possibly also ds, for their dollies.

It MUST be an ergo style sling, ie some sort of backpack. Right now they actually use backpacks to carry their toys in, but there is a concern that the dollies may be deprived of oxygen if the zips are done up (if they are not done up the dollies just fall out slowly in a comedic fashion).

I suppose I could faff about with a sewing machine if I had clear instructions, though really I'd much rather just hand over pennies.

TIA

The Beco can be worn in a back carry, although it's quite expensive for a doll sling.

Hmm. Most of the doll slings are front carriers or wraps.

Aha! There's a mei tai style one here that can probably be worn in a back carry.

one
two

lemonaid · 26/11/2007 21:20

Aren't those both front carriers?

kiskidee · 26/11/2007 21:24

the first mei tai one can be easily worn on the back. don't know about the toys r us stuff.

MrsBadger · 26/11/2007 21:25

as far as I can see they just have elastic shoulder straps - nothing to stop you putting them on backwards...

oh ar$e the beco is LOVELY but 4 x the price, ar$e ar$e. Will have to have a think as credit card defrosts.

MrsB ta for looking, I think I am probably better off with the mei tai style, simply because its a bit closer to the style of the Ergo (this is VERY important).

I just made a ring sling for my children. very easy to make. The Mei tai's look very easy to make as well - just a square of material with four straps

oh feck.

I want to spend money

And I can only really sew in fantasy land...

But I want NICE fabric.

Hmm am seeing this as something that might be possible now.

How does one tie the mei tai btw? do the straps cross across the chest?
