Anyone's dh/dp into Car racing kits (scalextric type).

I mean scalextric type stuff.

Dh has a Formula Tyco set bought in the mid 1990's. Ds is now old enough to play with it, but we want to extend it with more track/cars for Christmas.
Can't buy formula tyco any more (found 2 on ebay, but not quite what I wanted)

Someone told me that micro-scalextric is compatible. Can anyone confirm this?
