Feeling broken

Yesterday my 8year DD caught me as I came out of the shower to which she shout, get dressed you’re fat & ugly. This absolutely broke me, yes I’m overweight, struggling with menopause but never I expect this. I no idea where it came from, where she’s heard it but now it’s stuck in my head. I love her to bits but am struggling 🥲

Have you asked her where she heard that? And told her tgats it's unkind?

I’m sorry, kids can be brutal. Our grown bodies look so different to theirs especially in their little eyes. Try not to take it to heart or hold it against her. Flowers

Kids can be honest and it hurts. I’d be telling her off for being so rude.

My son is the same age and I’m massively fat. He’d never say that to me.

He knows I’m fat and it’s acknowledged as undesirable but he knows a person’s worth isn’t dictated by their looks or weight.

I’d ask her about why she said it and explain it’s unacceptable.
