...do rate them? Are you happy with it - is there anything to avoid?

Thanks - love you all

do i rate them - yes, good quality, cheap price

am i happy with it - yes

things to avoid - only thing to be wary of is the base units fit flush to the wall (uk units stand proud of the wall and allow space behind) so all pipework needs to be at skirting level. also, if you use ikea units, but wanted a worktop from somewhee else, check the depth, ikea units are deeper than uk ones

hth

lucykate · 25/11/2007 13:03

somewhere else not somewhee

suzywong · 25/11/2007 13:05

BTW I did not get any corner cupboards because I am too clumsy and hamsted to use them,

Yes we have recently fitted the Adel In yellow white with the solid oak worktops and i'm loving it. If you're getting fitted appliances the nutd 410 microwave (which basically acts like a second oven as well as a microwave) and nutd 610 oven are fab. Also get the inner revolving things in your corner base cupboards they're brill for veg and cans. The pull out shorter larder is fab too.

Millarkie · 25/11/2007 14:25

We fitted the Adel in yellow-white in our last house. We also bought the IKEA fitted dishwasher, but fitted other brands cooker/hood/fridge etc. We bought a deeper depth worktop from elsewhere and had it fitted seperately.
It was a lovely kitchen - really miss it now.

Love ours too, but oh it was a trauma choosing it! IKEA kitchen section still brings me out in a cold sweat two years on. Used to have to leave DSes with grandparents and spend hours in there working out what we needed. Then of course there was the issue of DH refusing to pay for it delivering so we hired a van and had to load in and out the whole lot ourselves ...

zippitippitoes · 25/11/2007 14:35

I've just had a kitchen from here fitted very impressed

LedodgyDickinson · 25/11/2007 17:28

Yes we have the dishwasher too it's the first time i've ever had a dishwasher and i'm loving it! Sarah you are so right I was hours in the shop on their planner thingy I even posted on here about the stress of it all but you can do it from home too I think.

HuwEdwards · 25/11/2007 17:34

Thankyou all for advice and tips - just been to IKEA to check them out and I think we're going for it, but with maybe a granite work surface.

Am having the microwave housing unit and the vertical pull out jobbies and the revolving corner unit thing. SUCH a difference in price compared with other places.

Huw, will be doing the same as you early next year, so would be very interested in how you get on!

HuwEdwards · 25/11/2007 18:31

Maidamess, work starts after Xmas, but we're also having an extension and some other work doing, so it won't be completed until about April time

jenthehen · 25/11/2007 19:54

Yes love it

AnonRegular · 25/11/2007 19:58

love it, the pull out larder/pantry is ace
piss easy to install...
we have the cheaper end the adel yellow one, got in to supplement out other kitchen...
would easily and definitely head back there when we revamp in this hosue or the next

MeMySonAndI · 25/11/2007 19:59

If using granite worktop talk to IKEA first. Depending on how heavy the granite worktop is, you may need some reinforcements (in most brands, not just IKEA). (Although if they are the standard type they are likely to be fine)

Jojay · 25/11/2007 20:08

Like everyone else on here it seems, we have the Adel yellow / white and the oak worktop.

We fitted it ourselves no problem, though as someone else said, the units fit flush to the wall, which was a bit tricky in places.

It's been in nearly 3 years now and I love it!!

Much better quality than other cheap kitchens imho

MERLYPUSS · 26/11/2007 13:02

Our kitchen is all but 10 yrs old. No probs. Would deffo recommend ikea.
