Car Seat Fitting

Have inherited my sister's Britax First Class car seat so although I know it hasn't been in any accidents I still want to be sure it's a good fit in my car.

Does anyone know if Halfords/Mothercare will check that it fits even though I'm not actually buying anything?

go to the britax website - they will tell you if that car seat fits your car (the fitfinder bit).

You can ring Britax or go online as they have a very up to date list of all vehicle models and tell you whether the seat will fit properly in that specific vehicle. They will also tell you if it can be fitted into all seats, just the middle back, front or just sides etc

put the seat in the seat...

put the belts through where the belts go

stick your knee in the carseat and lean all your weight into the seat and simultanously pull the belt as tight as possible and then lock it into the locking bit that locks the belt

make quite sure that the buckle, or anyplastic part of the seat belt is not incontact with any part of the car seat itself (buckle crunch)
