Slow-close hinge for toybox?

Does anyone know where I might find one? I have a nice old box that would be great for toys, but only if I can fit something to stop the top slamming down on small fingers!

What you are after is a soft close hinge.

They make them for kitchen cabinets. You would looking at about 2.50 so not much in terms of money.

Would also recommened a bar to stop the lid closing completly. Very easy to fit and close but would give you anythign from a 1cm to maybe an inch of opening.

But there are loads of other places.

Just stick Slow Close hinge into google!

Thanks StaryNightSky; the soft close hinge sounds ideal.
Would the bar you mention just be anything that stopped the lid closing all the way, or something more technical?

well there are a couple of options.

One would be a slow close (like you find on posh kitchen cabinets)

The other would be a trianglur bar that would stop the lid closing all the way untill you turned it round. I'll have a look and see if I can find one online somewhere.
