Fireworks.-. none at our newsagents. Have the rules changed, where can I buy them?
Easy · 04/11/2004 15:46
Only want a few, and some sparklers for ds. Every other year the local paper-shop has sold them, but none this year, nor our local small sainsbugs
Have I missed something. Do we have to go somewhere special now?
muddaofsuburbia · 04/11/2004 15:48
Apparently Asda have them - I'm off there this afternoon.

Was going to start a thread about this earlier Easy so i will keep an eye out here.
I have never bought fireworks before and we are going to DB's house for a bit of a party as it's DN (nephew's) birthday.
I wouldn't know one end of a firework from another - how do i know if they are any good?
Easy · 04/11/2004 15:57
Spring chicken, buy Standard Fireworks, in a mixed box. Standard have always been an OK brand, and the mixed box saves you having to decide
You might want to buy a few rockets too, and I Love rainbow coloured sparklers.
I've just sent dh out on a mission.
Now must get back to work
SpringChicken · 04/11/2004 16:02
Thanks Easy - great help! !
Can't believe i am getting excited about fireworls night but it's DD's first - she probably wont take the blindest bit of notice of them though.
misdee · 04/11/2004 16:09
dh is going to homebase in the next day or so to get our fireworks. we'll probably have a little party at MIL place saturday night. not a fan of sparklers as feel my dd's are stil ltoo young (4 and 2) but have got them a glowstick each.
Easy · 04/11/2004 16:39
DH is back!
The big newsagent on the high street had some, so he got a box of Standard ones, + 5 rockets.
Apparently Tesco's sold out. We wouldn't go there ever since I had an argument with the manager tho'.
