Quick hi-jack.
What happens when their heads poke above the seat? DS1 is 2.9yrs and his head is several inches over the top of his Britax Eclipse Si. I'm off to get him weighed this afternoon just to check he's still in the weight range for the seat.

biglips · 20/11/2007 18:09

40.10lb is 18.18kg so she is past the 18kg already and i am leaning toward Britax hi-liner atm.

burstingbug, if your lo's head is above the seat then the seat is no longer safe for your lo and you need to get the next one up or one in the same category that is taller at the back.

biglips · 21/11/2007 13:31

yes my DDs eye level is starting to go over her back car seat too

Thanks, will look into getting a new seat in the sales then.
We don't drive so don't use the seat very often so it's not posing an immediate risk.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/11/2007 20:03

I have been looking at seats today, I have the latest Which guide, would you like a summary?

VirginiaWoolf · 21/11/2007 20:05

Can I jump in (cheeky emoticon) and say that I'd love a Which summary, as have same problem looming v soon with DS???

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/11/2007 20:10

no problem!
I had a car accident (thankfully minor) so I've had to replace both car seats, stage 1 and stage 2/3
Have you got CAT?

burstingbug · 21/11/2007 20:28

I've got CAT, could you let me have a review. Thanks

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/11/2007 20:39

have sent you a CAT burstingbug

ISOFIX or not?

burstingbug · 21/11/2007 21:09

No idea, it needs to be easy to fit and take out as it depends who offers to take us out and about. There are about 4 different cars to try and fit the beasts car seats in.

burstingbug · 21/11/2007 21:10

Thanks, off to check mail

Wallace · 21/11/2007 21:15

Your 3 year old is as tall as my 6 year old

I see your problem as most forward facing seats only go up to 18kg, but most high back boosters say age 4+.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/11/2007 21:21

have done a brief summary here
let me know which seats you are interested in and I can give more details

They say you should go by weight and height and NOT the age guide

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/11/2007 21:23

My ds1 was 4 in September and currently measures 112cm and weighs 20kg, we had this problem a while ago, but then ds2 is following in his footsteps!
