We have an ikea set which is fab, but ds is becoming quite fond of Thomas and I thought I might get him a Thomas engine if they are compatible sizes.

Thanks

They're all the same I believe, Astrophe - Tesco, ELC, IKEA, Brio, the lot (even Tchibo who have a very good value set on offer atm!)

Elphaba · 19/11/2007 21:08

Yes I think so - as WW says, they are all compatible.

Tchibo set with battery-powered engine - £17.50 - bargain!

Thanks Wendy. I will look out a Thomas engine to go with his set - he will be so chuffed

noooooo thomas tracki is slightly smaller. I always assumed that the trains would be a bit smaller in width too.

Brio/ikea/tesco/toys r us/elc all fit together but i haven;t managed to fit thomas track to it. The best thing to do would be to take a piece of your track into the shop when you are buying the trains.

I know the motorised trains fit the wooden track(the ones meant really for the plastic blue track)

WendyWeber · 19/11/2007 21:14

Brio sell Thomas engines to fit the wooden track, mom - different from plastic Thomas sets. DS2 used to play with Brio a lot and we have Thomas engines that fit.

Astrophe · 19/11/2007 21:14

So the Thomas train wheels would be too narrow then? Hmmmm. Yes, I shall take one into the shop. Thanks
