Advice on Ballet shoes please

My dd really really wants a pair of ballet shoes for xmas. Just wanted some advice really as she doesnt do ballet so I cant ask a teacher. Where do you recommend buying online. I would have like her to be fitted for some but having a problem locating a shop that sells them. What do you recommend for a little girl size roughly 9-9.5 f fitting. Would she need the wider fit ones. I want pink leather for her. Where is good online to buy from

ballet shoes are complicated ! For example in one brand of leather ballet shoes my dd has a size 3.5 but her school shoes are only a 2. Another brand come up smaller. You would really need to find a dance shop and try a few pairs on, it's a bit hit and miss buying online.

Probably it's not so important to have them fitted if she is just playing in them and doesn't actually do ballet classes.

i'd say two sizes up from normal shoe size but that's just a guide she would prob need to try them on imo. my girls have had the wide fit ones but there's not a huge amount of difference.

The problem with ballet shoes, is like most other shoes, each brand has slightly different shape/size. So ideally they would be best fitted before bought. However if your DD wll not be taking lessons and just dancing at home, the fit may not need to be so accurate. As a guide, my DD1 has a size and a half bigger than her normal shoes, my youngest just one size bigger. They both have wide feet. You should expect to pay about £10 for leather.

Ballet shoe sizes differ wildly from actual shoe sizes, tbh I wouldn't buy any that you dd can't try on first. But we're quite pernickty as dd does do ballet.

Someone on here recommended me this ebay shop stores.ebay.co.uk/Debbies-Dance-Boutique which was very good. I think we bought 1 size bigger than shoe size, but they didn't last very long, so 2 sizes bigger could also be good!

My DD does ballet but she just has material ones which can be bought and tried on at her dance class. They do seem on the small side in general.

Many thanks for the quick replies and info. I will try to ask around a little more first then before I rush into anything online. Thats great though about the sizing as I did read to buy aprox 2 sizes larger but was a little worried about doings so!
