E3 owners - Advice needed

This is a bit early but as I am a bit of a planner I just wondered if anyone could help me with the following questions.

I have an E3 V1 and need to get a doubles kit for it ready for next summer before P&T's run out of the V1 kit in their UK warehouse. I was also thinking of buying the other accessories I will need at the same time. Is the cocoon any good for babies between 3 and 6 months old or should I not bother? I am assuming it will be too hot to use in July so what do I do with a newborn in the newborn seat - the harness looks weird so do I cover it with a buggy bunny and just put the baby in? Will they roll around at all or worse still, fall out? P&T's have sent me an e-mail to say that the car seat adaptors will fit my buggy but I will have to check that the car seat fits as the buggy is narrower than the V2 - has anyone used the travel system option with the V1 buggy and which seat did you use?

I plan on getting the single sun mesh and also a sleeping bag, just wondering if anyone else had anything on their wish list that they might have found handy? Doubles kit won't be used all the time, probably only for the nursery run so was planning on getting the double rain cover anyway.

Thanks

Ooh get her. Sorry - we've been ill.

Cocoon - no. DS was out of it at 3 months and it'd be too hot for July. We went straight into the rear seat from there so never really used the lie-flat bit without the cocoon, but I'm sure others have - do an archived messages search.

Can't help with the car seat bit, sorry.

Panniers are useful - as the baby gets longer and his/her legs take up more of the parcel tray you get less space for your wine underneath. Double rain cover essential. We have the double sun mesh too and it works fine.

HTH,
Bear

Thank god for that, I thought I'd become the Mumsnet leper or something .

Thanks Bear (as ever) for coming to my rescue. That's pretty much as I'd thought/remembered from most of the discussions previously so I'll amend my list accordingly. Already have the panniers and I think I'll ditch the car seat idea as it seems too much hassle and expense.

Will do a search on the newborn bed, ta. Hope you are all feeling better now

Cocoon will be too small for 3-6 months but we found the second seat too rigid. DD went in the bed on a sheepskin, didn't bother with the harness and she didn't fall out!

Don't know about the adaptors.

Panniers are useful if you aren't putting the buggy in the car all the time (I live in the country so constantly folding and unfolding) as you have to take them off. Didn't use them unless we were going out all day.

Someone had a problem with the sleeping bag (too hot!) and Bear ordered a different one for longer legs.

DS (toddler) wouldn't tolerate the sunshade after he was about 1 and a bit so that might have limited use.

Hope this helps.
