Hi
Apologies for bringing this thread back up - I've been looking everywhere for information on Inglesina car seats and this was the top result on Google. I can't find independent reviews from other mums anywhere for some reason which is quite telling.
We bought the Inglesina Copernico car seat about a year ago and initially, it seemed perfect - decent size, easy to fit, and comfy for my little one. However, in early January this year, we noticed a significant problem. Two plastic panels, which are bolted into the foam insert on the side of the seat, became loose. Upon inspection, I found the foam was torn, and the structure was compromised.
I returned the seat to Bump to Baby Prams in Deeside (shoutout to them for their support - they've been amazing!), where they documented the damage on 12th January and contacted Inglesina. Initially, Inglesina promised a prompt replacement under warranty, but what followed was a frustrating cycle of delays and excuses.
It's been over a month with no resolution. Despite assurances for a replacement by 14th February, that date came and went without any update. The shop's conversations with Inglesina's staff, including Hannah and the Director, Jonathan, have led nowhere, with no confirmed date for the replacement to arrive from Italy.
This situation has left us without a safe car seat for our child, highlighting not just a potential quality control issue with Inglesina products but also a serious lack of effective customer service. A company of this stature should have replacements readily available, especially for safety-critical items like car seats.
Careful if you're considering Inglesina when buying a car seat. Based on our experience, both the product durability and the company's customer service have been deeply disappointing. It seems these car seats, which shouldn't fall apart within a year of occasional use, may have underlying quality issues, and the company's response to such matters is inadequate.
