Car Finance Companies

Hello does anyone have any experiences of using a car finance company which actually leases the car out to you. I want to look at the reviews. I am currently going through a credit broker and they have found me a deal with a car finance company. But their reviews are terrible, I want to be able to do some research myself and look at reviews. I know once the deal is done I will be left in the lurch, so want to be sure I have a decent finance company to go back to.

What are you actually trying to achieve?

Finance companies don't provide cars. You won't get a finance company who will lease you a car. Are you trying to get a car?

In my experience they are ruthless and horrendous to deal with except at the point of buying a new car when they will fall over themselves to sort things out. I won’t ever take out a deal involving vehicle finance again, I would rather drive a battered old car tbh.

what are you looking for a car on finance or a leased car, as they are two different things ? I have worked in various showrooms on the finance side and every deal is based on the information the client/customer has given. You could also apply for a bank loan and buy the car outright, if your finances where to change drastically you could sell the car, pay off the loan, but if you have car finance you can't sell the car until the finance is paid off.

but if you have car finance you can't sell the car until the finance is paid off.

Of course you can, the finance is paid off as part of the sale. Less fun if you’re in negative equity but still totally possible.

Hello All, yes every single finance company I look at reviews for are terrible. Had a bad experience myself. All the car finance brokers do is get a financing deal for you then you are left to battle it out on any scratches eve if it is ok on the fair wear and rear guides. Just want to see if there is a decent car finance company with good ratings who I could ask a broker to approach. At least then I have a decent company to speak to on car collection and if they want to contest anything.

Is this a new car you’re looking for? You should definitely price up all options including PCP. Also note that someone like capitalcarfinance can often beat dealer interest rates.

AJA108 · 21/04/2021 17:07

Thanks, yes a new car..so looks like I either have to go to a dealer or car leasing broker. I wanted to see if I can go to a car finance company direct where I could read the reviews about them first.

I still really don't understand what you are wanting to do here. The dealer/garage will help arrange your finance. It's not something you need to do independently of them unless you plan to take a bank/other loan and buy your car outright.

AJA108 · 21/04/2021 18:05

Don't worry, thanks all. I understand they will sort the finance out. But those finance companies are all terrible and you have to deal with them on lease extensions, handing back cars etc. So I was asking if anyone knew any car finance companies they have used and were ok, so I could look at the reviews

We have had no problems handing back cars on PCP through BMW and Seat. No hassles with wear and tear either.
