A friend and I are thinking of looking after each others toddlers 1 day a week. We'd need to beg borrow or buy a double buggy pref phil and teds type. If we end up having to buy one what is the second hand value? The childcare sharing is only for a limited time and we'd like to recoup our money at the end. I sort of assume they hold thier value well (better than other double buggies?) and that if we buy 2nd hand and it doesn't get too much use (2 days a week for 4-5 months) then we shouldn't loose too much. Can anyone advise?
Cheers,
Hettie

Do you know how to search completed listings on eBay?

I presume you want the P&T E3 Explorer ie the tandem with that bottom lip, rather than the side-by-side double. I also presume you don't want the Sports model, which is the latest model and hence more pricey.

I did a quick search and an E3 with all accessories (doubles seat, raincover, cocoon) goes for 300+ new and 200+ used in good condition.

I think there is good resale value (they are desirable buggies) but depends on the condition on resale. For example, my buggy takes a huge beating from constant use and has frayed lining, missing buttons, soiling. Can't imagine getting much for it on eBay.
