Or keep it for next summer?

I belive that sun cream starts to lose its effectiveness after 12 months so personally I would chuck it, especially if it is for the dcs.

I usually use DS's stuff on myself the following year. The factor halves each year I believe.

dooley1 · 11/11/2007 09:11

crikey I didn't know that

Isn't there a best before date on there somewhere?

I'm not convinced that we all need to go out and buy more suncream every year.

PositivelyMellow · 11/11/2007 09:13

I didn't know that either.

I shall have to have a clear out methinks.

LucyElasticband · 11/11/2007 09:13

i never chuck mine, never had a problem either

horsemadgal · 11/11/2007 09:19

Some have the amount of months it lasts on the back. It's like a symbol of a container with the amount of months on, Boots Soltan is 18M. So deteriorates after that date.

dooley1 · 11/11/2007 09:22

just had a look and it says 12 months on it so will chuck this time

Chuck it.

Blandmum · 11/11/2007 09:24

They lose their protection factorness with time!

horsemadgal · 11/11/2007 09:28

12 months from opening, so would last until next summer. I'd use on myself, but then I am skinflint!

Weegle · 11/11/2007 09:34

crikey - didn't know that. Not sure I can bring myself to bin a nearly full £12 bottle of suncream.
