iPad battery going from 80% to 40% in 2 mins

Have an old iPad (5 years I think) and the battery goes from 80% to 40% in a few minutes. So I plug it in overnight - battery is charged to 100% and then I have this problem.
Anyone know why? Any solutions please? X

Because it's an older iPad. They do it to phones too.
