Smart vanity unit?

We need a new vanity unit for our bathroom, ideally one which goes down to the floor to hide the pipework.
Have been trawling internet and bathroom showrooms but not finding much that I like - they are either bit naff with formica type tops or too modern.
Can anyone recommend a good place to look or good companies?
TIA

we have just got a Miller one which is much nicer than most at Bathstore (they aren't in the normal catalogue - in a separate one). Will try and find a website.

Thanks that would be good. Wasn't too keen on any at BAthstore either...

miller. I think with the wall mounted ones you can get a plinth so they go right down to the ground. Ours is on legs so not completely down to ground.

Wheelybug · 10/11/2007 21:05

They are more expensive than the usual bathstore ones, which is reflected in the quality !

Pannacotta · 10/11/2007 21:06

Thanks they look great, just what I was after.
DO you think the quality is ok and was it pricey, can't see any prices on the website?!

Quality is great - completely different to the bathstore normal ones.

We have this one www.millerbathrooms.co.uk/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=9 although the main bit is white with an oak top and I think it was £300 ish (maybe a bit more) including sink but not tap and another £90 for legs.

But defintely worth it. Go into the bathstore and ask for a brochure (ours has some of the stuff on display too so assume they all will - whereabouts are you ?)

Pannacotta · 10/11/2007 21:30

That is lovely! I wanted one in white too, does it look ok with the oak top next to the white?
Didnt realise Bathstore dealt with any other companies, was in there today asking about vanity units and he didnt mention any other than their own range (Norwich store). How odd.

Yes it does look ok ! We had a similar dilemma and ummed and aaahed for ages. They do an all white one but that has to be wall mounted only (no legs) and I think if you have it on an internal wall it has to have legs for support. We have got an oak wall cabinet too to sort of bring it together and it has worked (we hope !).

Wheelybug · 10/11/2007 21:47

It was actually the fact we couldn't find anything in the same quality that meant we decided to go for the oak top and thankfully it turned out ok !

Pannacotta · 10/11/2007 22:12

Thanks so much Wheelybug, their range is just what I was after. Was starting to wonder if I would be able to find anything decent or have to make to with a boring old pedestal.

oh wow ! You really could be us. The last time we went back to the bathstore, having ordered everything other than the sink, weeks previously, we were expecting to go and choose a bogstandard pedestal because we couldn't find a suitable vanity unit. DH then came up with the idea of the wall cupboard.

Good luck !

Pannacotta · 12/11/2007 20:38

Wheelybug not sure if I am being slow here but did you order your unit from Bathstore?

Hi ! Yes I did. They had to get it in separately from Miller but they gave me a brochure in store and actually have some of the miller units in the showroom. This was the surbiton branch if you're having trouble with yours they may be able to speak to Surbiton and find out.

Pannacotta · 13/11/2007 14:30

Thanks for that - its odd as I spoke to th emanager and he showed me only what they had and didnt mention Miller but will go abck and harrass him!! Thanks for all your help Wheelybug (great name!).
