We've just had our 2nd child, our first is only 16 month so still uses a pushchair a lot of the time. We purchased the phil and teds sport, and i've started using it but its a bit heavy for me, and nobody can see the new baby.

I wondered if anyone could recommend another double for a newborn and 16 month old.

Jane Powertwin - I would LOVE one but cant warrant the cost.

My DD2 has just turned 2 and Im about to drop DS so have gone for a side by side maclaren for the car and the big emmaljunga pram with either toddler seat or toddler board for DD2.

If cost is no issue, go with the powertwin!

oh and I had 15mnths between dd1 and dd2 and had a Mamas and Papas Twin Aria - never again - the weight distribution was AWFUL

we've got a powertwin and it's great. 18m gap and still using it with dd2 (almost 3) and dd3 (14 months) It is pricey, but I've used it everyday since buying it for the school run (30 min each way) so cost per use has been worth it. Had some problems with it initially and had it sent back for a new front fork, but all covered under warrenty. Had to borrow a Mcclarren when it was being fixed and that was AWFUL. Problems pushing it with uneven weights and so so wide.

glad you said that about the aria, was just about to look it up. i had one when i was childminding but the children were of similar ages and weights. thank you. would love thr powertwin will be selling the phil and teds so might consider that, will have the money then.

We've bought the Jane Twin Two (not the powertwin).

Its a bit shorter on the length, something to do with the footplate at the front, but its fab.

Paid £250 for it.

We had a Mothercare double but was only okay whilst the kids were light. Now they are heavier we have bought an Out n About Nipper which is FANTASTIC - easy to steer - kids love it and it looks quite trendy.

i used my maclaren the other day in town with my 3.4yr old and 2yr old and it was a nightmare - until the 3.4yr old got out! Then it was a breeze to push, so with a newborn in it im sure it will be fine, and it is just for trips around town where i cant use my big pram.

I would definately say a jane though!
