Baby Mailing Preference Service

I thought this information might be helpful to any Mumsnet members who have been unlucky enough to experience miscarriage or stillbirth.
As of this summer, the Mail Preference Service has launched a special scheme to help people get their details removed from the mailing lists to receive baby products catalogues. This was at the suggestion of a SANDS member who worked in direct marketing.
You can get a leaflet from the MPS by calling 0207 291 3310 or e-mailing [email protected]
Because you can't preview new threads, I'll post the website link in a minute!

Here is the MPS website . There is a button at top left of the home page taking you to Baby MPS.

Can anyone register to 'stop' the mail - I am lucky in that I did not lose a baby but, in all honestly, am completely fed up with the amount of baby & childcare catalogues I receive, does anyone else feel like this?

Bobbins · 03/10/2002 16:51

I was luck, my lovely postman volunteered to vet my mail so as not to post anything that might stir up sad memories, but I think I'm definitely going to do this as well. Thanks Marina

Lindy, yes - just sign up, no-one has to supply a reason for being taken off the mailing lists, baby or more general. There has been a huge surge in small companies sending ridiculously glossy catalogues lately, hasn't there?
Bobbins, what an incredibly kind postie. Ours is nice but despite lots of cards, flowers etc I don't think the penny has dropped with him.
