You know those adjustable elastic thingies that go in the waistbands of trousers?

How do you rescue the elastic once it's escaped inside the waistband? I've tried to poke a safety pin and hook it out etc. Is there a better way?

These are maternity trousers which will be useless if I can't re-elasticate them.

Please help!

do you own a crochet hook? if you can't rescue the elastic you can buy new is called buttonhole elastic.

Crochet hook sounds promising.

If I had to buy new elastic, how would I get that into the waistband?
