stair gates - kiddyguard?

as our LO has just started to crawl, we're now panicking about buying some stair gates. since we have a very small landing (in our small 2 bed house) i was thinking that the kiddyguard might be a good option. it looks like a good design, especially as we wouldn't really have enough space to swing a gate open. has anyone bought one or has seen one in RL? are they any good?

any suggestions/comments/experience welcome. is it worth the money? though i don't know if we have many options with the lack of space.

thanks in advance

I had some and sold them - they are quite tricky to use (plusses and minus on that) but my big issue was that I was not tall enough to lean over the stairgate and open it when it was already closed and I needed to go up/down the stairs. so baby was upstairs with dh - I had to get dh to come and open the stairgate, same went for my then 5 year old it was a nightmare!

I have one. Works quite well although tricky to open with one hand

I never managed to shut it one handed either!

thanks for your input....it looks like a good idea. just need to figure out if it would be possible to install it on the landing as the main banister pole support thingey is right at the edge of the first step iykwim. might have to see if you can install it on an angle?? we'll see...
