Should we get DD (2 and a half) a 'girlie' bed?

We are planning on movning DD into a different bedroom and so are in the process of choosing curtains and blinds (we've chosen a fairly girlie pink/lilac design) etc and also need to get her a new bed (she is currently in a cot/bed size bed.)

I planned on getting her the same as DS which is a classic wooden single bed from john lewis but have just found out that they no longer make that design/range.

DH thinks it would be nice to get her a girlie bed (she is very 'pink') but I worry that she will grown out of the theme before the bed is actually worn out.

Your thoughts please oh wise mumsnetters.

TIA

Why not compromise and get a white bed? very in at the moment and would look lively with all the pink, purple etc but will not look over the top. Also will probably last her for years as you can just change the colours of everything else.

Was just a thought.

Some of them are reallypretty and with the bedding etc would look very girlie IYSWIM

But would also grow up nicely with her!

Hope you sort something out.
