Need a new family car...clueless

DH and I are both tall, we have DS2 in rear facing seat and another due in October. Regularly drive 5hrs to see family (outside of lockdown!).

Currently have a 2017 VW Golf. PCP due up in summer and we want to buy a car outright to reduce monthly costs. 15k budget.

I love my Golf but it is totally rammed when we visit family, desperately need more space now a second is coming along. I want to be able to travel with bikes etc.

Have no idea what to look for and am in denial that I am soon going to be 33 with two kids and a big, practical family car Blush.

What do you have and love?

Skoda Octavia. Excellent head and leg room and huge boot. We've just had a tow bar put on for a bike rack.

@sorryiasked i've seen that car mentioned a lot on older threads- do you have the standard or estate version? I think that's right?!

Citroen grand space tourer thing. It's huge. I love it

We have the hatchback which is plenty big enough.

I have a Kia Sportage, which is great for 6ft4 DP and 2 DC rear facing plus pram and everything else too!

I've got a Kia Ceed estate. We opted for the estate version and not the hatchback as well, you can never have enough room right?

I would strongly recommend an estate

I cone from a VW/Audi background previously, seven VW's and two Audi's. Golf estate, Passat estate would be great. Audi's more expensive but A4 or A6 estate would be great. I'd have no issue with an Octavia either, nice looking cars

I've owned an SUV (Tiguan) and the boot was shockingly small. SUV's tend to compromise boot space for space in the cabin
