I had a krups, not the same model, but it only lasted a year. It was leaking, and was standing in a pool of water.

I mean, not good for an electric appliance to be stood in a pool of water. Highly unsafe?

Hmmm, doesn't sound great. If it was leaking surely you could have it repaired under the 12mo guarantee ? Thanks for your reply btw

TBH, I didnt bother, it was a Christmas present from my sister, and I wouldnt hassle her about the receipt, she lives in Spain.

Well, that's understandable.

Don't know the Krupps but I have the Gaggia Titanium and it is wonderful. best present i ahve ever been bought (well, Ok,not exactly been bought - dh suggested a cofee machine and I ordered teh one I wanted, he did wrap it up though)

I did look at the Gaggia, but it was a bit steep for my budget, tbh. I could've got the basic one for not much more than the mid-range Krups but it seemed a little basic, although I accept that you are probably paying extra for the build quality and the 'name'. This is for DH's birthday at the end of this month and given that I'm spending £200 on his xmas present in a months time, I just couldn't stretch to £225 for the Gaggia equivalent.
