hat for non-hat wearing baby!

My dd loathes any kind of hat and also wont have her hood up. Need to get tough as she's also practically bald. She can undo velcro so a lovely gap hat I bought is instantly whipped off. Need a hat with ties or a balaclava (or would that be too cruel? I can just imagine her reaction ). Any suggestions re: where I can buy pretty/warm/funky hat of this sort?

Thanks for your help.

She's 15 months, BTW!

Not much help but my mum gave me an old-fashioned bonnet for my DD and I scoffed. It's the sort which covers head but not face / forehead. It has clearly been knitted by someone and has ribbon ties under the chin. As it doesn't cover her face, she's quite happy wearing it. She looks all cute like a little dickensian baby. Don't know where you get them but that type may be more successful. Hope you find something!

I recently took my 1 year old hat hating DD to the shops to buy her winter one, and let her choose, after trying a few on (silly I know but humour me) she chose a nice one from next with a cat on the front, all well and good...when it came to wearing it there were the usual spats, until I pointed out the nice cat on the front, and that she had chosen it, and she now wears it happily? (it/I may be mad, but it seems to work!)

Sorry - thought I could answer but if she won't have a hood and is cute to velcro, don't know. My ds would never stay still long enough to let me do up any ties - good luck! (he's also 15mths)

I think I saw cute one in Vertbaudet ;-)

No, it was La Redoute:

You need the polartec pom pom hat from Jojo Maman Bebe. It has ear flaps and a tie under the chin. DD wore this last winter and it stayed on (which is something of a miracle for her!). In fact you may get two winters out of it as ours still fits this year!

Here it is

My DS was like this and I found even if I cld tie a hat on, he'd just go absolutely beserk until it was removed.

Our solution was that if we could distract him while putting the hat on, after a while it didn't bother him. So I'd give him a rice cake or something, tell him a little story or sing a song, and shove the hat on before immediately pushing the buggy out the door and setting off. By the time we'd finished the rice cake/story/song, we were on our way and he'd forgotten about the hat.

Just bought my 'anti-hat baby' a sheepskin hat with spats and tie from Hennes £3.99. She loves it and cry the minute I put it on..she normally screams the house down if I put hat on her. Green Baby also do one online.
