We got one for our daughter at weekend and it is gorgeous. Was half price so £50 all wood with all the bits inside included. Just wanted to share as normally dolls houses like these are REALLY expensive.woo hoo!!

We got that last year for our DDs 4th birthday. It is so lovely and I am gutted I still haven't had chance to play with it. Even DS2 plays with it!

widgypog · 31/10/2007 20:40

We got one for dd last Christmas and I couldn't stop raving about it at the time. It's fab isn't it.

NAB3 · 31/10/2007 20:43

Play with dolls house is on my list of jobs that I didn't finish today and will carry over to tmw.

somersetmum · 31/10/2007 21:02

Thank you so much!

heifer · 31/10/2007 21:04

I have got it for my DD and my brother has taken it and is going to paint it all up for me (he was going to make her one, but when I mentined that I could get a really nice one for £50 he said I should and he would put it together and paint it all including furniture etc)..

anyone else painted theirs, was it easy?

NAB3 · 31/10/2007 21:08

Oh no, don't paint it!! It is so much nicer au naturel.

yelnats · 31/10/2007 22:17

We got one last week too for dd1's Christmas - were also planning on painting it.

heifer · 31/10/2007 22:38

I like the wooden look - but DD (3.10) would definately not appreciate it if not pink in any way....

Also makes DB feel involved and he is getting my newphew to help out so feels like a really nice gift etc.

gordieracer · 31/10/2007 22:44

I really want to get that for my Ds who is 3 on saturday, he loves small things, I dont know if its too girly though!

FlameInHell · 31/10/2007 22:45

Psychomum got it for her DD3 last year - tis looooooooooovely. Occasionally she lets my DD touch it

spookykitty · 31/10/2007 22:48

Can I tell you a story? My dad phoned me up to tell me he had bought a dolls house for the DDs at a car boot, it was all handmade wood with everything inside it etc, he paid £50 for it. He brought it up and tbh it was too good as DD2 is only 21 months and was bashing things off it etc I out it up the loft. My dad was really cut up but understood. Imagine my shock when I saw the toyrus one it's virtually identical, our one is maybe a little bigger but all the wooden stuff is the same. Don't have the heart to tell him.

ELC do the same one but it's all painted pink and costs a fortune

pinkteddy · 31/10/2007 22:51

can someone post a link? which one is it?

popmum · 31/10/2007 22:54

here

pinkteddy · 31/10/2007 22:55

thanks popmum

NAB3 · 01/11/2007 12:35

My son is 2 and he plays with the house.

naughtynoonoo · 01/11/2007 12:37

Oh yes, remember a few of us getting this for our dd's a couple of years ago, will find the thread, oh the joys we had with arranging the funiture.

pinkteddy · 01/11/2007 20:18

got one of these today for dd for xmas - thanks for tip all, delighted with it - hopefully she will be too . I would be interested to hear from anyone who has painted it - not sure whether to?

piximon · 01/11/2007 20:20

I'm sure it's just as good a gift for a boy and because it's all natural I don't think it's girly. Our DD1 was bought the same one a while back and DS1(4) loves to play with it. I was thinking of painting it all as DD1 is very into pink but I just love how it looks as it is.

StrawberryMartini · 01/11/2007 20:21

Damn you all! Do you not realise I have a toy addiction! Am going to go to toysrus tomorrow to ignore this thread.

pinkteddy · 01/11/2007 20:45

Be quick they were going fast!

widgypog · 03/11/2007 19:45

Wow thanks that is fantastic. I was after the wooden one in Woolies catalogue (£40 but not as good)but are sold out.

SmellyMurkySky · 03/11/2007 20:13

tbh i THINK IT IS A BIT OF A CON IN ONE SENSE. tORS'r'uS DO THIS HALF PRICE EVERY YEAR...IT IS ALWAYS HALF PRICE AT CHRISTMAS.

otho IT IS GOOD VALUE AT JUST £50. And it is a fantastic value house at £50. DTD2 loves emptying the furniture and mopping it top to bottom

Sorry for caps....just looked up at monitor

widgypog · 03/11/2007 20:18

I know it probably isnt sold for £100 for long but either way it is a bargain for £50..ELC one is very expensive
