Dishwasher proof Bowls & Plates?

Katymac · 30/10/2007 19:20

Ages ago (4.5 yrs ago) I bought lots of the IKEA coloured bowl & flower shaped plates

They are now looking a little worse for wear

I live no where near an Ikea anymore so can't go back to see if they still do they (however I haven't seen them recently)

Does anyone know where I can get brightly coloured children sized bowls & plates reasonably cheaply?

TIA
KMc

Ikea still do plastic sets but you cannot buy them online here. Maybe someone near could buy some for you and post them.

Wilkinsons? Woolworths? Asda?

You could get melamine picnic plates etc - they come in bright, plain colours (more common than plain dinner plates for kids I have noticed)

They look great & cheap too

I must get to Ikea sometime soon - I need about 6 bowls & 6 plates - way too much to post

At least they still do something similar

I got ours in Asda, but BHS do 'em too, as do many of the other supermarkets. I think you tend to get more choice in the summer though, when they all promote their picnic ranges for al fresco dining

I got some kids plates in tesco recently for £1 each + 3 for 2. They are a resonable size so don't fit in the top rack of our dishwasher (like the instructions say) but seem perfectly fine after several weeks on the bottom self. Fine in the microwave too. They did bowls too.

Might only get them in a big Tesco though - they were one of their "end of aisle offers" in a cardboead box if you know what I mean.

Oh - must get to the big Tesco - much closer

Mothercare's ones are actually really good, I have several of them. Also boots do some humprey's corner bowls which have been good. they're a good size for my nearly 4 year old. JoJo do some lovely melamine ones, but fairly pricey.

Sorry - I ment I needed 6 sets of bowls & plates (eg 36)

Can't afford individual ones, which is a shame

I will just have to get to ikea
