Help,My son is 2.5 and is a tall lad with very broad shoulders. We have a fantastic graco metrosport for long walks which he is really comfy in.It has now broken beyond repair-boo hoo.We have a couple of mclarens for town shopping but ds doesnt find these as comfy.I need to get a replacement but dont want to spend a small fortune as we want to try for another baby soon and we will have to do the whole double buggy thing. To add to the problem i have a Fiesta so the three wheel options are out of the window.Any advice would be fantastic!!!!!!!

What about a Phil & Ted's? It's quite roomy, and although it's expensive, you could buy the doubles kit and use it for both of them.

Oh, just saw the end - P&T might not fit in a fiesta, we keep ours in the back of the car as live on the 2nd floor, but not sure you'd get anything else in the boot once it was in.

Oh well.

thanks for replying.love phil and teds gear but im pretty sure it wont fit in the car.Think its pushing my luck getting a new car as well.........worth a go!

right maclaren style but wider- cosatto Diablo or O-Baby Apex- Fabbo buggies both of them!!

flat folders- hauck sprint 6 is surprisingly roomy, graco mirage (basic but again wide seat)

umm.............. whats the budget?

ParanoidPetra · 30/10/2007 13:55

Asked the hubby he shrugged and said no more than £200-more than i was thinking!

Thanks preggersagain .Just measured the beloved and knackered metrosport and the shoulder area width is 35 cm so needs to be similar to this.

blimey- i thought you'd say £50!!!!

with that sort of dosh i'd be looking at cosatto diablo £150 ish, hauck pico's (measure 37cm across!), traxx marlin (but that is huge!!) check out kiddicare and see what they've got atm!

CarGirl · 30/10/2007 16:23

I've got a metrosport I'd be willing to sell if you're interested.

If your DS is going to be about 3.5 when a new baby arrives I doubt you would need a double. I would be more tempted to look for a decent single that you could add a buggy board to. The Jane is really wide, you can get a buggy board for the new model and could also add a carry cot type thing. Expensive though!

horsemadgal · 30/10/2007 19:51

Jane Nomad, Slalom or Carrera have nice wide seats. Also Quinny Speedi.
My almost 4 year old fits in all of these.
Of the smaller folded ones, he also fits in Quinny Zapp and Bruin Presto with no trailing feet.
HTH, M x

Have emailed you, if you think you will do the whole buggyboard thing I found the graco mirage absolutely fantastic for that - and I've had a lot of buggies with a lot of buggyboards on them. Plus you can pick up 2nd hand mirage v cheap 2nd hand or they are pretty cheap new anyway. How old will your ds be, certainly if he's going to be 3 I think you should be fine without a double buggy.
