I don't know how tall he is but he is tall for his age and quite stocky too(not fat just big IYSWIM)

You could try stoppinghim jumping in it if you are worried it will break

PIL are lovely this foster child is more than a handful though

mine are boys 4.5 (twins) - still bags of room in their cotbeds (they are just over a metre tall).

I decided my dc would go into beds ASAP, so never bothered with cotbeds, I would let them practice getting on and off my bed, and as soon as they could do it with no trouble they went to full size divan beds, they were all 19months, I did'nt bother with bed guards either.

HairyIrene · 29/10/2007 11:24

mom

totally freaky

DS moved out of his at almost 4 - but only because we needed it for DD and we were moving so we took the chance to get him a "big boy" (cabin) bed - otherwise it probably would have lasted another year - and he is v. tall for his age.

florenceuk · 29/10/2007 11:29

DS stayed in his until he was 5 (around 100cm) - but could have stayed in for longer.

throckenholt · 29/10/2007 11:51

a metre - about 3ft 6 I think. Looking at them I think they would be ok until they are about 4ft tall.

throckenholt · 29/10/2007 11:53

just googled - cotbeds seem to be about 140cm - so 56 inches, or 4 ft 6. A standard bed is I think 6ft or 6ft 6.

HairyIrene · 29/10/2007 13:14

hey thanks throckenholt
thats interesting
so i have another 'foot' to go...
bit of breathing space
