Apparnetly those sold in UK carried a safety warning but those sold in US, SA and elsewhere (maybe via ebay) show a bumbo in use on a table and have no such warning . To me it is commonsense but maybe not obvious to all.

we use ours on table always supervised, it means we can actually eat a meal all together with both hands. is sociable for baby and no less safe than holding them on one knee (and less chance of hot food landing on them). but you can see why manufacturers shouldn't be seen to recommend it.
