iirc you have to turn on the baby unit first and wait for it to initialise, then turn the parent monitor on i always have the parent unit on the base- the little light will flash and then the screen will display the baby room temp on the parent unit.
If that doesn't work i'll dig out some instructions for you (but may take a while!)

preggersagain..ive just done that but the parent moniter stil shows chargin only..no light to show its linked , no temp, infact nothing on the screen!! is it supposed to be working even though its charging up ?
the green light is flashing on the baby moniter and shows the room temp but nothing on parent monitor!! if you could dig out intructions or anybody else id really appreciate it..ill try and see if the original seller still has instructions too!!

We have two. They still work when on the charger. The 'on' button on the parent unit can be quite tricky if it's worn and may require you to press it for a few seconds before the green light comes on. The other thing you could try is changing the batteries in the parent unit. If they're really duff they won't be charging at all.

To get it to work in the first place though dont you need to hold the parent very close to the baby unit until the link is initially established? Ie the first time you are setting it up somewhere? Also if it is too close to a digital phone unit it might not work. But it does sound like the battery in the parent unit might be dead if the green light is showing on the baby unit.

Our instructions said you have to charge for 16h before 1st use, and on that occasion it didn't work while charging - though on every subsequent use they have done.

how do you get the lullabies to come on by remote.please...i might get the hang of this yet..the parent unit has decided to work after pressing the on/off button a few times..thanks to suzi2 for that suggestion what would i do without mumsnet..

We have had two of these and both have broken in the same way - by refusing to establish a link. Have you wiggled all the wires? sometimes that helps. hope you get it sorted.

erm, off the top of my head, you press menu, scroll to lullabies (using th volume + and -) then press the tick, then press the tick when it says play? might need to scroll again... my DS would know better as he loves doing it!

thanks suzi2..i think i ve actually worked out everything ..is there anything else that it can do tha you know of?

Erm, you can set the sensitivity of the monitor, but i just have it on most sensitive. You can set it to flash (or beep maybe?0 if it gets too hot or cold too. And you can set it so that when you switch the volume off, if there's sound it beeps you. And you can page the main unit and talkback - though that freaks my DS out in a big way so use with caution! That's all I can think of.
