During this lockdown I would like to read more and have been thinking about getting an e reader.

I would also like to watch netflix on it and watch catchup tv. Is this even possible? Please let me know your recommendations.

Borrowbox is free and connects to your local library. If you haven't got a library ticket you can join online . It's great !

If you have a tablet / iPad or smartphone you can download the kindle app. And Kobo app and As previous poster mentioned there is BorrowBox. Also an app called 'Libby'. All these apps are free. Libby is also a library app so books are free, but you may have to wait to borrow popular books. Kindle and kobo have a selection of free books, but also sell books.
I have a kindle, but it is quite slow. If you specifically want an e-reader then the kindle paperwhite is meant to be very good. I used to have a kobo e-reader but it was very, very slow to down load and no backlight making it hard to read at night...this was years ago, so if they are still made they might be much better😂
