Car seat recommendations for VW Golf?

Can anyone recommend a car seat which is suitable for fitting in a VW Golf S-reg? My ds is about 16-17lbs in weight at the moment. We would like a forward facing one if possible, but the ones I have seen all seem to be suitable from 20lbs in weight. I dont really want to buy a car seat now, and then another one in a few months time IYSWIM.

Has anyone got experience with an adapter thingy with which you can use in pushchairs / car seats for littler babies so they dont slip about?

this one is suitable from bith and rear facing till they reach 20lbs after that you turning round to forward facing mothercare

Think the recommendation would still be to rearward face until at least 9 kg/20lb. You could get something like a Britax First Class (here )or Iseos here which can go either way and last up to around 18kg. You'd need to check that it would fit either way in your car though.

I have the Britax First Class which fits in our VW Golf and Passat. Very happy with it, easy to fit once you've dont it a few times. We didn't use it from birth however, because we had one of those lie-flat ones, so dd used it from about 3 or 4 months I think, rear-facing.
