Trunki - Any good?

DD2 wants a Trunki for her birthday - looks good to me and we do a fair bit of travelling. Anyone got one, and what do you think of it? Good and bad, please.

Saw them at Babyshow on Friday. Don't have one, but want to get one for DD too, as we travel once a year to SA, and sometimes do stop-overs. Trunki can help keep her busy on the airport.
DH says we don't have the money for it

They are absolutely fab! DD has had hers since she was 18mts old and I think they have improved the strap since then.Only downside is if you happen to be pulling them along quickly,stop suddenly and child goes flying

we ahve one for ds3 and he loves it, doubles as a toy when we go camping 9which is regulalrly) and seems extremely durable.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for DS for our hols... actually, I've been thinking about getting my mum to buy it

Are they fairly steady when pulling them along, or do they keep tipping annoyingly over, like so many pull-along cases that go along on 4 wheels?

Ours has never tippes I can think of, even with enthusiastic 7 year old pulling! BUT ds3 is 4 so weightier i suppose

saw one in real life being kicked round the departure lounge at Birmingham a couple of weeks ago
smaller than I'd expected but the girl looked like she was having fun.

Not got a trunki but this site has some great kids luggage by samsonite - pirates, princesses, themes plus frog trolley cases and other animals www.kidstravel2.com. Worth a look!

ds loves his and it has definitely kept him occupied in an airport!

Ds loves his in fact he gets more use out of it as a ride on toy at home than as a suitcase.

I highly recommend them. DD still loves hers and she's just turned 6! Would get the new one Towgo I think it's called as it's got a few useful extras such as a strap to hold things in the top so it doesn't all fall out when you open it and a small handle so you don't have to lift it up with the shoulder strap.

um, am clearly missing something here. we have one for dd1 but its never been used! would be fine as an over night bag, but for plane trips its too big for hand luggage (once they tire of scooting around on it, i'd be left carrying it!) and is not designed to be checked in.

maybe i'm missing the point, as i said before...

sorry, when i said it was too big for hand luggage, i meant that it is too big in practiacl terms- not as far as airline restrictions go. we never have enough hands or space in the car to let the girls take a case that big on the plane, as well as checked in luggage. it would be ok for us if you could check it in.
