LCD are better IMO - walk round a place that sells loads of TVs and look at the plasmas - they are all burnt, LCDs don't do this.

You have the most horrific profile picture by the way.

ScaryScienceT · 23/10/2007 07:54

LCDs are slightly less delicate that plasma, and use less energy.

foofi · 23/10/2007 07:59

We have one of each and to be honest they're both great!

I remember knowing quite a lot about it once eg depends on whether you'll be watching from an angle or straight in front, or whether you'll be watching in the dark or with the light one, but can't remember which those things apply to now!!!!

zippitippitoes · 23/10/2007 08:11

i hardly watch at all but have a plasma because the colour and the watching experience is much better..no need to have any burn in and you can see it from any angle much better than lcd as not affected by the ;ight eiyher

i mainly watch films so have surround sound as well which is much better than tv speakers

i would always get plasma though i pn;y watch anpour once a week

there isn't a huge difference in life expectancy

eandh · 23/10/2007 08:18

we have a plasma in our lounge and lcd in the dd's playroom and there isn't alot f difference in my opinion (Although my brother works in electricals and says there is - something to do with resolution??) we only got the plasma because it was a better deal

QuootieSpookypie · 23/10/2007 12:10

I think it's plasma that has the problem with viewing from an angle, we spend hours choosing our TV (men, eh?!) and debating over plasma/LCD and the plasmas go black if you stand too far to the side - try it.
