Toy garages

I'm on a quest to find the perfect toy garage.

The elc one comes close, but I'd prefer one that didn't use batteries (i.e. make annoying noises) and was wooden. It does come with a free pack of cars at the moment though.

I'm not that keen on the gltc, letterbox, plan city, pintoys or formative fun ones. ToysRUs had one - can't remember the make - that was cheap, but rather flimsy.

It must have plenty of parking spaces suitable for matchbox cars, a car lift and, mst important of all, a good ramp (ideally one which runs all the way down from the top to the ground.

Has anyone spotted any other good ones? I want something that is fairly sturdy and will last for years.

you could try ebay for a vintage fisher price one, my son still plays with my old 70s one. can't be beaten.

the newer ones are really horrible.

DD got this for her birthday and its great.

Strudy and a good size. The only thing I would say is give it a coat of varnish before its used.

Both good ideas, thank you. We're trying to find one that is like dh's from the 1970s (think that was a Fisher Price one too). MIL still has it at her house (and ds loves playing with it), but she won't let us have it.

lots of vintage fisher price ones here

That is the one that dh used to play with! The ones ending in the next few days are all a bit broken or battered, but I'll keep watching.

I'd love a slightly bigger wooden equivalent of that one, otherwise.
