Trying to find a child's computer with Microsoft Paint on it....

I really want to buy my dd a laptop, but don't want one of the ones that includes all the usual pre-programmed games on it (like the Barbie laptop ones) - we want one that's a bit like an adult laptop with the microsoft Paint programme on it (that's the main thing that we want it for). Does anyone know if such a thing exists (budget around £100)? Or if any variation of a child's computer has ms paint on it?

There isn't such a thing as a childs laptop at £100 i'm afraid.

You can get one aimed at kids for £300/400.

How about a cheap shitty second hand one? You could wipe everything off it and load up the paint program from Microsofts Marketplace as this is all that would be needed.

You wouldn't need any fancy modern one with dual core and loads of memory if it is just for this simple program.

I don't think any of the children's laptop things have MS software on. They are all very specific games/activities designed for certain tasks. Some may have a drawing package of sorts on though.

oh no! how disappointing - I can't believe such a thing hasn't been invented! Yes, EricL, maybe ebay is the only option. Thank you!

DD has a second hand laptop from DH's work. No one wanted it back - I had to borrow it for a few weeks - as the wireless bit doesn't work and it is too much hassle to sort out. So DD has kept it. Cleared it of everything bar the software we wanted on for her. Haven't bothered reconnecting it tot he Internet (via wire) as I don't want her having online access unsupervised for a long time yet.
